Can I just be honest with you for a second?

There’s a point where you start to feel it… and you can’t quite ignore it anymore.

It doesn’t show up in some big, obvious way. It’s quieter than that. It’s in the moments where you wake up, and there’s already a weight sitting on your chest before the day has even begun. You can feel your mind moving ahead of you, scanning everything that needs your attention, everything you haven’t finished, everything you’ve been putting off.

It’s in the way you walk into your own space, and something in you tightens. You don’t even have to think about it. You just feel it. There’s a low-level pressure there, like your environment is asking something from you before you’ve even had a chance to settle.

And then there’s the part that’s harder to admit. The resentment that starts to build.

It shows up in small ways at first. A shorter tone than you meant to have. A little less patience than you thought you would. A conversation where you can feel yourself pulling away instead of leaning in. You’re talking to someone you love and part of you is there, but part of you is somewhere else… tired, irritated, carrying something that doesn’t belong in that moment, but it’s there anyway.

And I remember realizing something that felt almost uncomfortable in its simplicity. Understanding it wasn’t enough. At some point, I had to move through it. I had to start clearing what I was carrying.

Not all at once. Just honestly. Just steadily.

And when I did, the shift wasn’t loud. It was quiet, but it was real.

I started waking up without that immediate pressure sitting on my chest. I could walk into my space and feel neutral, sometimes even calm. I could have a conversation and stay present instead of reacting and replaying it later.

The resentment softened. The dread eased. Things that used to take up so much space in my mind didn’t anymore.

And what replaced it wasn’t perfection. It was steadiness.

And when you feel steady, you move through your life differently. You respond instead of react. You handle things as they come instead of carrying them for days. You feel more like yourself in your relationships. You trust yourself more because you’re not holding everything at once.

That’s what this work is.

In 2019, I started getting ill...all sorts of weird symptoms...

In 2023, I had a heart transplant.

I’m Angela, and I’m so excited to launch this newsletter as a space where we can explore, support, and celebrate the journey of healing, growth, and transformation together. Create • Heal • Shine is all about helping each of you—especially those facing unexpected challenges—connect with your inner strength and create a life filled with purpose and resilience.

What I Do & Why I’m Passionate About It

As a counselor, coach, and facilitator, I’ve had the privilege of guiding people through some of life’s toughest challenges. With years of experience working with individuals facing unexpected health and life transitions, I’ve learned that the path to healing is unique to each person—and yet, the process can feel isolating and overwhelming. That’s why I’ve committed myself to creating a space for growth, resilience, and empowerment, where each of you can discover the tools and community you need to reclaim your strength and thrive.

The work I do is deeply inspired by my own journey. After my heart transplant, I gained a profound awareness of life’s fragility and the importance of purpose. Through my courses and programs, like Pain to Purpose and the Beyond Survival workshop, I focus on helping others find clarity, emotional resilience, and a deep connection with their authentic selves. I want each of you to know that no matter the challenge, there is a way forward—a path to creating, healing, and shining as your true self.
